TITLE |
Quantum simulation of FFLO superfluid | ||
ABSTRACT |
Quantum simulation of ultracold atomic Fermi gas provides an ideal platform to study the behavior of electrons in solid-state systems. One particular interest is the study of the finite momentum Cooper pair, also known as the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state [1,2]. Though it has been proposed 60 years ago, the FFLO superconductor remains elusive. The FFLO phase is believed to occupy larger phase space in low dimensions, whereas it is more robust against quantum and thermal fluctuation in higher dimensions. In this talk, I will review our studies of the FFLO phase in different dimensions [3,4,5] and propose an idea to detect the smoking gun of the FFLO superfluid with the ultracold Fermi gas quantum simulator [6,7]. I will also update our progress on the construction of the FFLO simulator.
